What is free and what is not
Free: making the reels
Every link gives you 4 takes, each opening a different way. There is no card to enter and no trial that runs out after a week.
Free: all the editing
Swap a picture, fix a word, add your logo, change the music or turn a vertical reel into a square post. Previews play in your browser with a small watermark.
Paid: the HD download
When a take is ready to post, 1 credit downloads it in full HD without the watermark. Credits come 2 for $5 or 5 for $10 and never expire. If you edit that take later, downloading it again is free.
A straight answer about free reel makers
Plenty of tools call themselves free and then stop you at the export screen. We would rather tell you up front. Making and editing reels here costs nothing, and you only pay when you want the clean HD file.
If you want something free all the way through, CapCut is a good pick. You start from an empty timeline, bring your own clips and do the cutting yourself. It is a great editor if you have the time.
UrlToReel is for the other case, when you have a website and no time. It does the first draft from your pages, so you start with 4 finished reels and spend your time choosing and tweaking instead of building from scratch.
Getting the most out of it for free
- Try a few different pages. A product page, your home page and a page with reviews each give very different reels.
- Watch all 4 takes before you edit. Often one of them is close enough that you only change a word or two.
- Use the Brand tab to put your logo and colours on every take at once, then save it so your next set starts that way.
- Only buy credits for the takes you are going to post. Everything before that is free.

Is it actually free?
Making reels and editing them is free, with no card and no time limit. The only thing you pay for is downloading a finished reel in full HD without the watermark, which costs 1 credit.
Is there a watermark?
Previews have a small watermark. The HD download you get with a credit does not.
Do I need to sign up?
No. You can paste a link and edit the reels without an account. Reels made that way are kept for 7 days, so sign in with your email if you want to keep them longer or buy credits.
How many reels can I make?
There is no monthly cap. To keep things fair there is a limit on how many sets one person can start in an hour and in a day, and most people never get near it.
Can I use it for a client or a business page?
Yes, as long as you own the site or have permission to promote it. The reels you make are yours to post anywhere.
