For web designers and agencies
Show off the sites you build, as videos
A screenshot cannot show how a site flows from one section to the next. Paste a site you built and get 4 videos that show it off on a laptop and a phone, ready for your portfolio, your feed and the client.
Types a multivitamin that works for women into a prompt bar, then plays through 4 pages of the site in a browser: the anniversary sale, the daily multivitamin, prenatal support and the quiz.

From link to video in three steps
- Step 1
Paste the live site
Once the site is public, paste its home page or the page with the best design.
- Step 2
Pick a size for where it goes
Widescreen for your portfolio, vertical for Reels and TikTok, square for LinkedIn. You get 4 takes in about 5 minutes.
- Step 3
Post it and give it to the client
Download the take you like in full HD. Clients like having one for their launch day, and it is a nice thing to hand over with the site.
Which size to use where
- Your portfolio site
- Widescreen, 1920×1080
- A longer walkthrough
- Website showcase, widescreen, 30 to 90 seconds
- Instagram Reels and TikTok
- Vertical, 1080×1920
- Instagram feed
- Feed post, 1080×1350
- Square, 1080×1080, or widescreen
- Client handover and launch email
- Widescreen, 1920×1080
Why designers use it
It shows the flow
How a page moves from section to section is a big part of the design. A video shows the scroll. A screenshot cannot.
One for every project
Recording a scroll, putting it in a mockup and editing it takes an hour or two. This takes about 5 minutes, so every site you launch gets one.
Something to give the client
Hand over the site with a video they can post on launch day. It is good for them, and it puts your work in front of their followers.
How to turn client work into new clients
Most new web design work comes from people seeing work you already did. The trouble is that a finished site lives at its own address, and nobody goes there to judge your skills.
A short video takes the site to where people already are. Post it when the site launches, tag the client and pin your best three to the top of your profile.
Write one line about what changed for the client, not about the tools you used. "They now get bookings online" lands better than "built in Webflow".
Make your portfolio page a wall of these videos. A visitor can see ten projects in a minute, which a list of links never manages.
Small things that make the video look better
- Wait until fonts and images are final. The video shows the page as it is when you paste the link.
- Turn off cookie banners and chat widgets on the page if you can. We hide most of them, but a page without them records cleaner.
- Try more than one page. A home page, a product page and an about page give quite different videos.
- Change the last line in the editor to credit your studio, like "Site by [your studio]".
- Ask the client to share the post. It is the easiest way to reach more people like them.
Who is behind this
I'm Masab Farooque, and I build and run UrlToReel myself. Bug reports, feature requests and support emails all come straight to me.
The reel here is one of the 4 it made from my own site, masabfarooque.com, with nothing changed.
If something in your reels looks wrong, write to me and I'll look at it myself. hello@urltoreel.com

Something else? Ask us directly
Can I make videos of sites I built for clients?
Yes, as long as the client is happy for you to show their site. Ask first, and offer them the video too.
Does it work with Webflow, Framer, Wix and WordPress sites?
Yes. We visit the page the way any visitor would, so it works with any builder.
Will my site's own animations play in the video?
No. The video is made from captures of your pages, set in motion with scrolls, camera moves and device frames. Your site's own animations and videos do not play inside it.
Does it show the mobile version too?
Yes. We open the site on a phone and a laptop, and the takes show both.
Can I credit my studio in the video?
Yes. Change any line in the editor, such as the closing line, before you download.
What does it cost for an agency?
Making and editing is free. Each full HD download uses 1 credit, and 5 credits cost $10, so a video for each launch costs about $2.
Try it on your own site
It's free until you download, and it takes about 5 minutes.
